The wooden poorboy

This is a detail seen in one of the earlier photoes. In finnish "Vaivaisukko" is s a wooden boy standing by the church of Nurmo. These statues can be found in many churches in Finland. The wooden statue has a coin-sized hole in it and people can donate money for the parish.

  1. This is very interesting custom, never seen anything like this here in England.

  2. This is so cute! I myself come from the Southern Finland, and haven't ever seen anything like this. More of these, please!
