This memorial statue is named "Shattered trees". It says:
"Taipale and Vuosalmi in 1939-1940 the furious enemy attacks were partly stopped by South Ostrobothnian men with heavy losses. The price was expensive, but the fatherland is free. Founded by their brothers in arms."
The statue was designed by Maija Martiskainen in 1975.
Tomorrow Finland celebrates it's independence day.
