Big boat for a small river
Posted by
JK
This boat has just been brought from Saimaa, the largest lake in Finland. The Seinäjoki -river is a small river so this boat is not going to sail on it. Some local daring entrepreneurs will restore it as a restaurant boat and anchor it somewhere near this place. They will be busy, cause the plan is to get the restaurant open by midsummer, June 21. I will post more photos as things evolve.

Finnhorse - Suomen hevonen
Posted by
JK
This is a statue to honor the Finnhorse breed. A horse breed developed fully in Finland. The breed has played an important role as a draught horse and had a lot of responsibilities in the finnish wars. The text in the statue says "Suomenhevonen Suomen Puolesta 1939-1945". "Finnhorse for Finland 1939-1945".

This is not a lake

This is the Kyrönjoki -river flooding. What I've been reading this is the biggest flooding for many years. This is really a field and if you look really closely there is a barn standing in the middle of the water.
This road cannot be taken. At least with a normal car.

Spring

The blog has been on a winter break. I changed the main topic to properly describe the nature of it. It doesn't have daily photos, so maybe the name should be plain and simple "Photos from Seinäjoki". Maybe I will find some time to dig up the camera and take some more photos soon.

I believe this is the corner of our city where are the most of the Neon Lights. There is even a large screen with advertisements.

Frami F ready

Happy new year! This is the entrance of the new extension of the local technology center, Frami. The newest building is called Frami F. People will study business there. As you can see the surface is extraordinary. I'll take some "whole building" shots later.
