THE Landmark of Seinäjoki
Posted by

What is the first scenery that comes to mind when starting to share photos of Seinäjoki?
The main Landmark of course.
This is the main Lutheran Church in Seinäjoki. It's called "Lakeuden Risti", "The Cross of the Plains". The church was designed by finnish architect, the late Alvar Aalto. The cross shaped tower is 65 meters high. Wikipedia (in finnish).
Alvar Aalto designed a full set of buildings that all reside near this Church. "Aalto Center" as we call it has a library, theater and two bureau buildings. Another Aalto's work, "suojeluskuntatalo" is located a little way off.
