This is the main entrance of one of the buildings in the area of Törnävä Hospital. As far as I know some administration offices reside in this building.

Frami Waterfront
Posted by
JK
This waterfront park in front of the Seinäjoki Technology Center Frami has been built in the last two years. As the grass begins to grow in the new regions, I think it one of the nicest places on the sides of the river.

Seinäjoki Vicarage
Posted by
JK
This is the Vicarage of Törnävä.It is told to be from the 1850's. I found from a history book that it was the first chaplain of the Seinäjoki parish, Salomon Hirvinen who lived there first. It is written that the foundation was largely rebuilt in 1898 and after this renovation the main building(int the back) has remained almost unchanged.

Seinäjoki River, Törnävä
Posted by
JK
This is a photo taken from the river in Törnävä. While I was standing there I could admire a mother duck teaching her children how to swim in the flowing water. Too bad I didn't have a tele objective with me, so I could not have a photo of them.

Ylistaro Church Rapids, Fountain

JK
Again from Ylistaro, the Kyrönjoki river and a fountain in the middle of it. This is taken from a bridge that goes over the river near the small center of Ylistaro.
Ylistaro was merged into Seinäjoki in 2009.

Uppalan kartano

This is the Food and Wine Restaurant "Uppalan Kartano". I would consider it to be one of the best restaurants in the Seinäjoki Area. You can read more about the history of the house here.

Church of Ylistaro
Posted by
JK
Ylistaro, which is nowadays part of Seinäjoki, has this "Komia Kirkko". The dialectual nickname translates into Magnificent Church. It was built in 1847-1850 and designed by E.B. Lohrmann. As the church is very big for a parish size of Ylistaro, it has been playfully told that the was a mixup in the drawings and some smaller church should have been built there. I quess that is not true and it stands right where it should.

The townhall (designed by Alvar Aalto) has a "grass auditorium" like this. The church tower of Lakeuden Risti can be seen in the background.

Kyrönjoki - Munakka bridge
Posted by
JK
I had a photo of this bridge earlier in the spring. There was a lot of water and even some snow left. Now here's a summerly photo of that same place. Just to be exact, this is not inside the borders of Seinäjoki. This is in Ilmajoki.

Benji Jumping and other stuff in Provinssirock
Posted by
JK
Provinssirock is here again. There are a lot of activities to take between the conserts. This girl took a benji jump. Provinssirock is one of the largest rock festivals in Finland. This year some of the main acts are: Nightwish, Slayer, Rise against and Billy Talent.
You can also enjoy some exotic foods like this "Herkku lautanen", "Delicious dish".
A lot of stuff is sold. Here you can buy a helmet if you like, or a handbag.
Most of the people prefer camping as the mode of living. I guess it the mandatory part of festival life.

Johnny Traber and Valtra
Posted by
JK
This is Johnny Traber driving a Finnish Valtra Tractor on two wheels. This stunt was part of a show by the German Traber family. They performed stunts with cars, motorcycles, tractors and monster trucks. They are on tour in finland this summer. You can see them in Seinäjoki tomorrow also. At the new Citymarket.
No photos for a while. Sorry about that.
