Fall colors

This fall there hasn't been as much beautiful autumn colors than one could hope. Here are some and all in one single rowan tree. The orange mail box somehow fits.

Dragonforce

The British powermetal band Dragonforce paid a visit to Rytmikorjaamo, Seinäjoki yesterday. I only got some poor quality photos with my small camera. This one is the best I can offer.

Lakeuden Risti - indoors

The main lutheran church of Seinäjoki, Lakeuden Risti. Indoors. 

This photo was actually taken in July, but I spared it for bad weather days.

Still raining ...

It's has still been raining today. Not as much as yesterday and the day before, but still. This is not exactly in Seinäjoki. It is in Ilmajoki, the neighbouring municipality. This road had to be closed yesterday.

 

This is Pajuluoma today

  

 This is Pajuluoma in Summer, I believe the water wasn't in it's normal level even then.

 

This is the river Seinäjoki near the techology center Frami yesterday. You can see only one row of stones on the edge.

 

 This is the same place in summer.  Here you can see three rows of stones and something else under them. So I would say the water is about 30-40 cm higher than usual in yesterdays photo.

Raining ...a lot.

It has been raining for a few days. Someone said we have had one month's rain in two days. There are roads flooding and water level still raises in the rivers. Firefighters are fighting the water out from a school's kitchen nearby. Even in our yard there is so much water that we are pumping it with a submersible pump that it will not flood our playhouse. I hope it will stop raining soon.

The other Ferrari

Only some time ago I posted a photo of a Ferrari. I wrote that there might be another Ferrari in town too. Well here it is.

Music Store Järvenpää Gone

One piece of history in musical hobbies in this town is gone. The traditional building of Music Store Järvenpää was demolished. Something new is coming to replace it. We'll see what it is. As a bonus a before and after combination below.

Construction work continues

It's been a rainy day. I quess it shows in the photo.

Lakeuden Lasi

A company called "Lakeuden Lasi", "Glass of the plains" used to operate here a long while ago. I don't even remember how long ago it was. I quess this building is also to be torn down in some time.

Oldish house

This old house resides along the Jaakkolantie street. It's one of the "oldest" streets in Seinäjoki. One scene of the "Talvisota" movie was shot there in the 80's.  The houses are all run-down and I think they will be demolished shortly.

Ferrari

I'm not sure but this might be the only Ferrari in town. There might be another one, a bit older, but I've not see it in traffic for a long time.

Itikka - not much left

This is the demolition of Itikka meat factory. I've posted a photoes from this huge demolition once before. Also I have one photo of the factory before the demolition started. The one above came a bit dramatic with the backlighting. I wonder how they are going to bring down the chimney. I would like see when it is done.

New library in the evening

An evening shot of the new library. The lights inside make it look quite nice.

Järvenpää

The old music store Järvenpää's last days. This site will be different in a few weeks. The two buildings will be demolished. I posted one photo of this building before.
