Train from Vaasa

This train is coming from Vaasa. I'm not sure if it's late or not. These older trains tend to be on time.

Late train

Finnish railways VR has lately (few years) been infamous for being late all the time. This "bullet train" from Helsinki to Oulu was only half an hour late due to technical problems.

Frami

This is part of the Seinäjoki Technology Center, Frami. Behind these glasses is the restaurant. Luckily in a month or so there will not be any more snow, and the grass will become green. 

It's kind of colorless this time of year.

The downriver

This is the Seinäjoki river near the place where it connects with the Kyrönjoki river.

Seinäjoki campus

This is the campus area of the Seinäjoki university of applied sciences. The snow is melting, but no signs of plants waking up.

Power

This is the powerplant of Seinäjoki. It burns peat and wood. Power and heat comes out.

In forest

This is near the same place than the yesterdays photo.  Finnish forests are commonly coniferous forests. This photo has more birch trees than usual.

Bird feeding

This is from one of the most popular recreation grounds near Seinäjoki, a bog, Paukaneva. People bring food to the birds. Blue tit on the left and great tit in the middle.

Törnävä Hospital

This is one of the buildings of the old mental hospital of Seinäjoki area. Now they belong to the main hospital of Seinäjoki. However they are still hosting different departments of mental health care.

Museum of Nurmo

This is a museum. Museum of Nurmo. Nurmo is part of Seinäjoki.

Willows

First pussy willows of the spring have appeared. I don't know how it is elsewhere but these are important easter decorations in Finland.

No cars, No fires

"No cars, no fires on the ice". The sign by the local fishing club. This is from one of the artificial lakes in the area of Seinäjoki, "Hirvijärvi".

Roundhouse

 

This is an old roundhouse. It serves now days as an art gallery.
